Silence No More

Silence No More

We are deeply disturbed by the events that have exposed the blatant and disgusting racism which we realize, has always existed in this country, the United States of America. We knew it was there. And yet, we stayed silent. But silence is no longer an option we can live with so we won't be any longer. We denounce systematic racism. We desire to live in a country where every man and every woman are created equal and viewed as such under the law. We make a commitment to educate ourselves about the challenges our friends, our colleagues, our fellow brothers and sisters, face. We make a commitment to learn how we have contributed to the unequalness of our society. We have a dream for our country, not unlike the dream Martin Luther King had for his. So we will learn. We will march. We will vote. And we will not stay quiet any longer.

KOTA will no longer support organizations who only have people of the same race, age, color, and sexual orientation on their boards. And we will strive to do the same. We make this commitment so that we can move toward the creation of the country of our dreams, where all things are possible for EVERY ONE. We spent our lives pledging to the allegiance of a great nation, one that was indivisible, one that promised liberty and justice for all. Now we hold our country to its oath ...  and to its pledge.
